Clayton, Spenser, Scooter and Sherman: then and now.

September 10, 2009

Ah, one of life's greatest simple pleasures: the empty paper towel roll. Last night for the first time in a long time I took the boys out to the woods by myself. Usually Phillip takes Sherman on a Special Walk™ while Clayton and I pursue less strenuous forms of exercise. The woods are overgrown, so overgrown that at one point I got lost so I put a leash on Sherman and we turned around and headed back the way we came. Just before the clearing, however, I lost him. Phillip said that he sometimes runs off but always comes back, so I walked a rectangle looking for him. Calling his name doesn't work, he can't hear it. Still no Sherman. Phillip was out and I didn't have my phone so I headed back home to call him. For some reason I wasn't too worried and I didn't need to be because when I was almost to the gate I heard some rustling and turned around to see Sherman tearing down the path to meet me. That's my boy!
