Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

September 3, 2007

Phillip and I went scuba diving yesterday and as soon as we started to load the car, Clayton and Spenser jumped in lest they be left behind. They were, of course, because dogs don't scuba dive. Phillip and I have been diving for about eight years. We usually go on two trips a year, and in the summer we force ourselves to go to Dutch Springs in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dutch Springs is huge, fifty acres of water according to their web site. They have sunk things like boats and planes, a school bus and trolley. The visibility is not that great and there are not many fish. Plus the water, below thirty feet, is COLD! For those of you who are divers, let me tell you what a wimp I am: I wear a 7mm suit with a 5/3 hood/vest underneath, plus the heavy gloves. So anyway it's not my favorite way to spend the day, but it was very good for us and we needed to get wet prior to our trip to Honduras in November.

That's Phillip, having tons of fun, I can tell.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but I have gills and do not need a regulator to breathe! Pretty cool, huh? I bet all you divers out there are wicked jealous.
