Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter
May 26, 2009
November 1995 - May 25, 2009
This is how I will remember Spenser, happy and full of life. Yesterday I kept thinking back to when one or both of us would go upstairs to change in order to take the boys out, and Spenser would get so excited, he'd run up the stairs, barking on a metronome tempo, doing play bows in the bedroom. This picture is less than two months old, which shows that he didn't suffer for too long. I'll have more photos and remembrances today and through the week. Your emails are incredibly touching and so very much appreciated. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart. I truly know that we are not alone.
These photos are both from 2001, when Spenser was just a 6-year old pup. He really did like to sit on laps like he's doing here! He was a 40-pound lap dog. I seem to remember Phillip carrying him due to a paw injury. Whenever Spenser got a pricker in his paw int he woods he would stop, turn around, hobble to whoever was closer and offer it for pricker-removal.
I have stayed home today to be with Clayton, who I think might be wondering where his brother is. Courtney has very graciously loaned us Tootsie and Buttercup for the rest of the week, so Clayton won't be alone while we're at work.
