Clayton, Spenser, Scooter and Sherman: then and now.
June 15, 2009
Sherman's personality has started to emerge. I have heard him vocalize three times, the loudest
being when he saw something outside through the sliding glass door (but dinner was being served so
he stayed inside). Phillip thinks his lack of voice is related to his hearing loss. He hears very loud
noises but that seems to be about it. We've started to use signs as we teach him to sit and to stay
away from the table while we're eating. Sherman's manners are seriously lacking, but I have no doubt
that he'll learn because he wants to please.
Cathy and Judy came over for dinner last night and brought Keesha and Skipper. Keesha is about the same age as Sherman and they played together several times. She'd egg him on with a butt bump, and they'd chase each other around the yard. Then he'd plunk down submissively and show her his tummy. So, add "great with other dogs" to Sherman's list of endearing qualities. The list is getting long!
