Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

June 19, 2008

Phillip and I are adding to our life insurance coffers and last night a nurse from the insurance company came over to interview, weigh, and measure us. In the middle of it all she turned to me and asked, "What is that noise?" The noise of course was Spenser, who was at her feet, wide awake and snoring. I believe I've mentioned how versatile and talented he is in this regard, and in fact his awake snoring is louder than his asleep snoring. I reassured her it was nothing to worry about and we turned our attention back to my prescription medicines. At which point Clayton began his oft-practiced and stunningly accurate imitation of a cat hacking up a fur ball. "Now at the end it's going to sound like he's throwing up, but he isn't," I warned, trying not to giggle. "Are all beagles this loud?" she asked. I believed that it was a rhetorical question and merely smiled, at which point one of the boys, probably Spenser, farted. We'll see if I get that life insurance or not.
