The Daily Digital Photo
Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

January 21, 2008

I do not ordinarily display such an unflattering photo of myself on the Internet, so I'll ask you to focus your attention on Clayton instead while I tell you the story behind this picture. For those of you who have met Clayton or followed the DD long enough, you know that he is tremendously food-driven and is constantly hungry. So when I tell you that the Prednisone is making him hungrier than we have EVER seen him, you can just imagine the kind of pickle that we're in. The other day he was standing on his hind legs begging while I watched a mug of tea go around in the microwave. He will follow me over to the computer if I have food, then stay there long after it becomes clear there is nothing more for him. When he knows that food is imminent his whole body shakes and he howls, and when he HOPES that food is imminent, he grinds his teeth. So yesterday when I was making lasagne Clayton wouldn't get more than a foot or two away from me, worrying perhaps that something might fall which he'd miss. Phillip kindly brought in the doggy bed to make Clayton more comfortable and give me more room.

On Saturday I spent a wonderful couple of hours with 1-week old Jacob. He is a beautiful baby! Tootsie and Buttercup like their new brother and have been very well-behaved. Congratulations again to the proud parents.
