Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

January 16, 2008

First some background. My sister Nancy has three basset hounds: Jackson, Telsha, and Elliot (pictured above). Elliott is a recent addition to the family and used to live with Nancy's son and daughter-in-law (Seth and Jenn) along with his basset sibling, Miss Penny P. but moved shortly after baby Lexi was born last March. Okay, so my sister has Lexi on Mondays. This past Monday Jackson had to go to the vet and so Nancy bundled Lexi into the car and off they went, leaving Telsha and Elliott to mind the house. Is the picture making sense now? When Nancy arrived home with a crying baby and a basset hound who doesn't like to get out of the car, look who greeted her at the door. Yes, my friends, that is a dirty (with a capital 'D') diaper in his mouth. And you thought YOUR life was exciting.

And while we're talking about babies, I have wonderful news: Jacob Michael Newman entered the world at 1:05 pm on January 13th weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. Baby, Mom and Dad are doing great, and I am waiting to hear how Buttercup and Tootsie like their new brother. Pictures as soon as I get them. Congratulations, Courtney and Mike!
