Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

February 18, 2008

I took the boys to the vet last week for their rabies shots. Sounds relatively inexpensive, doesn't it? Well, we decided to get Clayton a "superchem" blood panel because he has been anemic and we need to keep a handle on that. And Phillip wanted them to get a "alk phos" level for Spenser, and because he had an appointment with the oncologist on Friday we figured that we might as well get other blood tests done, too. I also picked up a box of heartworm preventative and some Frontline, because the ticks have been out pretty much all winter. When I got to the checkout desk, the woman looked at me and asked, "Are you ready?" Uh oh. Because my bill was for $442. So much for their allowance this week.
