Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter.

April 10, 2009

I worked at home yesterday to stay with Clayton. He wouldn't put any weight on his leg, wouldn't make do with three, and hence I had to carry him around. I must have brought him outside four times and he wouldn't pee. He didn't pee in the morning, either. He looked to be too uncomfortable to get in a peeing position. Our vet appointment was at 3:30 and the vet said it's either: musculoskeletal, arthritis, or neurological. He put Clayton on a short course of Prednisone and said to call back if he's not better by early next week. I bundled him in the car (no easy feat - chubby boy weighs 37 pounds) and we headed home. Got home and he immediately put a little weight on his leg. Phillip took him outside and he hobbled over to the fence and peed for what seemed like ten minutes. Then he started to walk around a little and after dinner he was right there at dishwasher duty. Go figure.

Happy Easter!
