Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter.

I wanted to show you what is going on about a mile down the road. We live on the aptly named Canal Road and twice in the past ten years the river on the other side of the canal has flooded into the canal, then onto the road, then, unfortunately, into some houses including this one. (Ours is on a hill, no worries there.) Check out that huge new concrete foundation. That should keep the house high and dry, though I'm wondering what they're going to do with the garage. I met the owner while I was taking this picture and she said that this little project was one and a half years in the making, going back and forth between the Historical Commission, the Zoning Board, and the engineers. I can only imagine what this costs. Probably even more than our patio.
