The Daily Digital Photo
Chronicling the life of Clayton and Spenser, with memories of Scooter

April 3, 2008

There is always much excitement when it's time to go out to the woods. Also, much preparation. The boys must be collared and the humans must locate any or all of: jackets, appropriate footwear, cell phones, photographic equipment, doggy treats, Diet Mt. Dew. I should probably add earplugs to that list because by the time we're ready to head out, the barking has become so persistent and loud that I can practically feel a whole clump of my auditory hair cells giving out. Spenser barks because he LOVES to go out. Once he gets started you could set a metronome to his barking, starting at allegro and moving quickly up to presto. Clayton also barks, why I'm not sure though I believe that he is doing some kind of color commentary. He is last out of the house because he MUST stand in the doorway and howl a few more times before we leave. I tried to get that shot here but missed it. Don't for a moment think that this is anything more than a split second pause during which he was sucking down a bit of oxygen in order to continue. By the way, if you're reading this, Phillip dear, please take note of the greenish hue on the siding. I think a power wash is in order after we return from vacation.
